When it comes to achieving organizational goals, delegation is the key! It is nothing short of being the most important tool that any successful leader can have. Despite being one of the most powerful devices, one of the biggest challenges faced by managers today is their inability to delegate tasks. When should you delegate?

ü When you have a lot on your plate and are already overwhelmed 

ü If you need to put into effect the 20/80 rule 

ü If your employee has the right skillset to do the job

When not to delegate

Delegating may play a pivotal part in effective team building and organizational success. However, there are times when your hands are just tied and you cannot delegate tasks. Such situations may be the case if:

ü The job is specifically your responsibility

ü You are dealing with a task that requires a certain degree of confidentiality.

ü Your employees are underqualified or lack the required set of skills to get the job done

Remember, there will be times when you may feel hesitant towards delegating tasks. In those moments, simply remind yourself that your team wants to be successful and committed to achieving your organizational goals.
